Gateway Joe Pye Weed (Eupatorium maculatum) - Ornamental wildflower attracts butterflies, bees, and beneficial insects to the garden. Gateway is a bit smaller than regular joe pye (4' - 5') and features very large dark dusty rose flower heads up to 18" summer through fall. Excellent for the back of the butterfly garden. Flowers emit a sweet vanilla like fragrance that pollinators cannot resist. While they can be grown in full sun they do require adequate water and may benefit from a little shade during the hottest summer months. Space at least 3' apart as this perennial will eventually form a large clump. Perennial zones 4-8. Live plant in 3 inch container. |
